Resilience in the face of adversity
Yield and you need not break:
Bent you can straighten,
Emptied you can hold,
Torn you can mend;
Lao-Tzu, The Way of Life According to Lao Tzu
A Training module for Pharma. The 2020 pandemic has created an abrupt business transformation in every area of activity, including Pharma and its entire ecosystem. Health-care providers, hospitals, patients, pharma company employees, teams, leaders, and the very industry itself have been forced to adapt to a new way of operating. The belief that things will eventually “go back to normal” is unrealistic. It might be more accurate to say that a new way of doing business is emerging from this unprecedented experience, and the companies that thrive will be those who prepare for this change today.
The CCPE is proud to announce a FREE 60-minute course (archived vodcast) on the real nature of resilience and, as a followup, the opportunity to engage in a virtual community of practice called ARISE where you can ask questions and sustain engagement with the authors. The focus is not just managing adversity, but emerging stronger from adversity. The course begins with an archived learning session hosted by two veteran leaders in business psychology, Dr. Steve Courmanopoulos & Dr. Sean Hayes. The content is intended to be thought-provoking, inspirational, and action-oriented, rather than didactic. The recording focuses on the personal adaptations that people can make to better cope with adversity and to more effectively prepare for change in the future. They explore the nature of resilience, the inherent drive to thrive, and the types of actions that can immediately, personally and professionally, be taken to build resilience in the face of adversity. After you review the archived session, you will have the opportunity to engage with the authors in a virtual community offering continuous engagement.
After completing this course students will be able to:
- Define resilience and its basis in psychology
- Discuss methods to increase resilience in various situations
This course will not count towards CCPE awards and is not eligible for CCPE medals. There is no exam for this course.
